A Snapshot of Your Day
You start your day with a meeting with a new customer of our Tableau service. You listen carefully and understand the needs, then you explain how our service works with respect to these needs and suggest a setup that considers all required functionalities from user and access rights management incl. row level security to the access of databases through proxies and firewalls. The customer agrees, and you provide the setup on the same day You then take care about requests from other customers. As usual there is a big variety of different topics with different complexity. You can solve some quickly yourself, others need more time or require a meeting with the customer or need to be passed to other teams You recognize a high number of requests on one specific topic. You identify this as an area for improvement of the service and get it discussed in the next team meeting, where the corresponding experts get involved and take over At the end of the day, you take care of some regular activities like user inventory, changes of passwords and other maintenance tasks
How You’ll Make an Impact

• Making our Tableau customers more effective in visualizing and analyzing their data by providing consultation and support with respect to their application setup, access rights management incl. row level security, access and snapshots of data, and further related topics
• Increasing the quality and efficiency of our Tableau service by optimizing processes, may it be internal or with other involved teams, also by addressing issues at the vendor and taking care of the corresponding cases, or by making suggestions for the automation of further tasks
• Improving the overall quality of the service by maintaining relevant documentation and knowledge sharing pages

What You Bring

• Understanding how Tableau works, how performant reports are created and well designed, how users and access rights can be managed, how row level security can be implemented, how sites and servers can be setup, how data sources are defined, and how connections to databases work
• Having familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3 and RDS, and can optimize and troubleshoot EC2 instances to ensure high availability and scalability
• Being able to monitor and analyze platform performance metrics to identify and resolve issues proactively
• AWS and Tableau Server certifications are a plus
• Having good knowledge about proxies, firewalls, and computer networks in general, so that you can understand our infrastructure, analyze issues, solve them yourself or forward them to the corresponding team, and can make the required change requests
• Understanding complex IT infrastructure setups and processes, follow all cybersecurity and other operational rules and policies, but also identify opportunities for improvements
• Having excellent written and verbal English skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with teams
